Forte dei Marmi is a resort overlooking the southern portion of the Ligurian Sea and takes its name from the fortress that stands in the city centre. Its features are a strong presence of landscapes, tree-lined avenues and villas with big gardens, dark grey sand on the beaches which are extended for about 150-250 meters and the extreme closeness to the Alps, whose peaks reach 1858 meters and are less than twenty kilometers distance from the coast. These characteristics make this city and Versilia one of the most beautiful areas of Italy.
