Viareggio is a city located in the north of Tuscany that faces the coast of the Ligurian Sea. It’s the main centre of Versilia and is known not only for its seaside tourism but also for the Carnival (born in 1873), with its allegorical floats parade along the "Passeggiata a mare". The official Carnival mask of Viareggio is “Burlamacco”.

This city is known for various aspects, such as fisheries and floriculture, eclectic, liberty and deco architecture, its industrial and handcrafted active centre and its shipyards, known worldwide.
